I cannot believe it! After three amazing years studying public relations with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, I am finally a proud University of Central Missouri alumna! And to top things off, my internship/job search is complete as I’ve accepted an amazing internship at a firm in San Francisco. So needless to say, I’ve had a pretty amazing month so far!
Three months ago, when I began my job search, I applied for 56 jobs across the country and even a few in Canada. I was expecting to just accept any job offered to me, no matter where or for what company, but as I began interviewing for positions, I knew that would not be the case.
Ever since I visited San Francisco four years ago, I knew I wanted to live there someday. I would have never expected to receive such an amazing opportunity in such an amazing city. But in all honesty, I’m more excited for the actual internship than I am to be living in San Fran. Working for such a great agency will allow me to put my skills to the test and gain real world experience in the pr agency business.
And I cannot express how great it feels to finally know where I’m headed. Sure I always knew I’d be going somewhere, but having an actual direction and job to go to is absolutely amazing. So even though it’s extremely sad to be ending the UCM chapter in my life, another chapter is just beginning and I couldn’t be more excited.
